Light Rigid Licence (LR)

Any motor vehicle with a GVM of more than 4.5t but not more than 8t. Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9t GVM. Also includes vehicles with a GVM up to 4.5t which carry more than 12 adults including the driver and vehicles in C.

Assessment Methods:

Option 1

Competency Based Training and Assessment
Approximately 3-4 hours (driving instruction and test).

Option 2

Driving lessons with instructor and use of truck for RTA Driving Test

Prerequisites:

Hold a driver's licence (not a learner's licence) for 1 year.

Pass RTA Knowledge Test.
